Îles aux trésors
Created by Marc Larouche, Îles aux trésors is all about the islands of the Lower St. Lawrence and what makes them special. Only one of the islands is inhabited but each has its own history and its role to play in preserving biodiversity. Most are protected and serve as refuges for wildlife, particularly of the feathered kind. While they may appear quiet and deserted, these islands are actually bursting with life. Host Michel Harvey talks to the people who know the islands best. The guides, keepers and property owners tell their stories and explain the origins of the islands' evocative names: Île aux Lièvres, Les Pèlerins, îles du Pot à l'Eau-de-Vie, Île aux Basques, Île-aux-Pommes, l'Île de Notre-Dame-des-Sept-Douleurs. Twelve discovery-packed trips to the treasure islands of the Lower St. Lawrence.
