LOS ANGELES, June 29, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Baldwin Hills Crenshaw is celebrating Independence Day in style this year, with its first-ever "Fireworks Spectacular" featuring free live entertainment, food, local artists and retail vendors on the brand-new open air promenade. It will be the only fireworks display on the Crenshaw Corridor for the holiday.

The fun begins at 5:00pm with pre-show entertainment by DJ Paradise and a variety of food options including barbeque dishes, $3 chicken bowls from Saffron, Rave Cinemas concessions and selections from Buffalo Wild Wings. Mimi's Natural Body Care, A&B Accessories and other vendors from the mall will have carts open, and local artists will also showcase their paintings on the outdoor promenade.

ATLANTA, June 29, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- "7th Heaven," the longest-running family drama in television history, will join GMC TV's lineup on July 7, headlining a summer-long "7th Heaven Summer" programming stunt that also will include GMC World Premiere Movies, faith-inspired classic films including The Ten Commandments and marathons featuring uplifting GMC Family Favorites such as the GMC World Premiere series "Heartland,""The Waltons,""Dr. Quinn: Medicine Woman," "Family Ties" and "Sister Sister."

"7th Heaven" joins the GMC family lineup with marathons beginning Saturday, July 7 (7pm-6am ET) and Sunday, July 8 (9am-7pm ET). "7th Heaven" follows the Camden family as the minister father and stay-at-home mother deal with the drama of having seven children, ranging from toddlers to adults with families of their own. The friends, neighbors and love interests of the various members of the family weigh heavily on the plot of the series, which addresses real-life issues. The weekend will feature jazz extraordinaires Ronnie Laws, Phil Perry, Howard Hewett, and Ralphe Armstrong as headliners, along with more than 70 other national and local performances over the three-day period. All events are free to the public.

The Paradise Valley District honors the rich tradition of African American entertainment and commerce in Detroit. The original Paradise Valley comprised 66 blocks where African-Americans lived, worked and played. There were more than 350 African-American-owned businesses in the area - serving the community by day, while night clubs provided world-class entertainment after dark. The clubs hosted all the greats: Billie Holiday, Duke Ellington, Sammy Davis Jr., Josephine Baker, and many others.

The Downtown Development Authority, the City of Detroit, The Kresge Foundation and others have invested in the Paradise Valley District as a way of creating economic opportunity based on Downtown's creative and historical assets.

RICHMOND, Va., June 29, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Media General, Inc. (NYSE: MEG) commenced a cash tender offer to purchase up to $45,214,000 aggregate principal amount of its 11 3/4 % Senior Secured Notes due 2017 (the "Notes"). The tender offer will expire at 5:00 p.m., New York City time, on July 30, 2012, unless extended by Media General in its sole discretion. The terms and conditions of the tender offer are described in an Offer to Purchase, dated June 29, 2012, and a related Letter of Transmittal.

On June 25, 2012, Media General completed its sale of 63 daily and weekly newspapers to World Media Enterprises Inc., a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, Inc., for $142 million in cash, subject to adjustment for working capital and other items. The company is obligated to use a portion of the net proceeds from the sale, as determined under the Amended and Restated Intercreditor and Collateral Agency Agreement dated as of February 12, 2010, among the company, the Bank of New York Mellon, as trustee, BH Finance LLC (as successor to Bank of America, N.A.), as bank agent and Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. Singing Machine Announces 26% Increase in Net Sales, Profit in Fiscal 2012 Annual Report

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., June 29, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The Singing Machine Company, Inc. ("Singing Machine" or the "Company") (OTCBB: SMDM) today announced financial results for its fiscal year ended March 31, 2012.

For the 2012 fiscal year, the Company reported net sales of approximately $25.9 million compared to $19.1 million in the same period last year, an increase of approximately $6.8 million (approximately 26% increase). Gross margin dipped slightly to 21.8% compared to 22.1% in the same period last year, however G&A expenses held steady at approximately $2.5 million. Due to the increase in net sales and no change to the overhead structure, the Company reported net income of approximately $463,000 compared to a net loss of approximately $599,000 in the last fiscal year (an improvement of approximately $1.1 million). The significant improvement in net sales over last year is directly attributed to the Company gaining new retail accounts and the overall resurgence of karaoke popularity.
