The campaign is built around the new slogan, "The mind is our medium." Elements of the branding initiative include print, online ads, on-air promos and bus ads throughout the Washington, D.C. metro area.

Listeners will begin hearing the new slogan in two promotional audio spots, in station identification messages at the top of each hour and throughout the daily programming schedule on 88.5 and 88.3 in Ocean City, Md.

"This slogan, 'The mind is our medium,' says all that we want to signify about WAMU 88.5 - that we embrace discussion, that we value intelligence, that we are a multi-platform content provider - in a way we believe will translate well to air," said WAMU 88.5's general manager Caryn G. Mathes.

The station also rolled out its new logo, a stylized rendering of the call letters with overlapping shapes in rainbow colors. The bright, contemporary design reflects the station's commitment to diverse programming and civil discussion of wide-ranging ideas.

To develop the new look and slogan, WAMU 88.5 engaged Arnold DC, Arnold Worldwide's Washington D.C. office. To view the new logo and ad campaign online, visit http://wamu.org/about/press/10/brand_campaign.php.
