SCAD President Paula Wallace presents the Outstanding Achievement in Cinema Award to Woody Harrelson and Ben Foster prior to a Special Screening of their new film, "The Messenger"

SAVANNAH, Ga., Oct. 31 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The 2009 annual Savannah Film Festival, hosted by the Savannah College of Art and Design opened tonight with the university's President Paula Wallace presenting the Outstanding Achievement in Cinema Award to Woody Harrelson and Ben Foster for recognition of their work in the acclaimed drama, "The Messenger." Also, on hand to share the tribute was the film's director and co-writer, Oren Moverman. Following the tribute to both actors festival goers were treated to a special screening of the film.

Looking out over the audience, Foster accepted his award from President Wallace by exclaiming, "Holy Smokes! I want to thank SCAD for inviting us...I'm deeply inspired by you and Savannah."

Harrelson also graciously accepted his award from President Wallace, who applauded him for his support of sustainable living and invited him to apply for SCAD's new degree in Design for Sustainability. Referring to his recent film, "Zombieland," filmed outside of Atlanta, he said, "When I was filming earlier this year, I was told that I've got to go to Savannah, the best city in Georgia...there just weren't enough zombies to kill."

In "The Messenger," Ben Foster stars as Will Montgomery, a U.S. Army officer who has just returned home from a tour in Iraq and is assigned to the Army's Casualty Notification service. Partnered with fellow officer Tony Stone (Woody Harrelson) to bear the bad news to the loved ones of fallen soldiers, Will faces the challenge of completing his mission while seeking to find comfort and healing back on the home front. The film hits select theatres on November 13th.

Harrelson's critically acclaimed portrayal of controversial magazine publisher Larry Flynt in Milos Forman's "The People vs. Larry Flynt" garnered him best actor Academy Award, Golden Globe, and Screen Actors Guild nominations. Other highlights from Harrelson's film career include "No Country For Old Men," "The Thin Red Line," "Ed TV," "Wag the Dog," "Kingpin," "Natural Born Killers," "Indecent Proposal" and "White Men Can't Jump," among others. LOS ANGELES, Oct. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Allan Singer has been named Executive Vice President of Distribution and Strategy for OWN: THE OPRAH WINFREY NETWORK. It was announced today by Christina Norman, Chief Executive Officer of OWN, to whom he will report.

In his new role, Mr. Singer will lead the content distribution and sales strategy for OWN. Mr. Singer comes to OWN from Comcast where he served as Senior Vice President of Content Acquisition. Based in Los Angeles, he begins on November 2.

Mr. Singer's work at Comcast began in 2003 where, as Senior Vice President of Programming Investments, he managed the expansion of Comcast's network portfolio, including the acquisition of TechTV and the successful launches of TV One, Comcast SportsNet Chicago, Comcast SportsNet West, SNY and PBS Kids Sprout. In 2006, Mr. Singer's focus was moved to Comcast's sports division as Senior Vice President of Sports Business Development. Until recently, he served as Senior Vice President of Content Acquisition for Comcast Cable.

Prior to his work at Comcast, Mr. Singer was Senior Vice President of Programming at AT&T Broadband, LLC and President of Satellite Services, Inc., where he managed content acquisition and carriage of networks, as well as negotiated rights acquisitions with content providers for the then largest cable company.

Mr. Singer holds both a Juris Doctorate from the University of Colorado in Boulder and a Bachelor of Arts from Dickinson College in Pennsylvania. He currently serves on the board for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southeast Pennsylvania.

HAUPPAUGE, N.Y. and SAN DIEGO, Oct. 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Audiovox Corporation (NASDAQ:VOXX), and FLO TV Incorporated, provider of the award-winning FLO TV(TM) live mobile TV service and a wholly owned subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated (NASDAQ:QCOM), today announced that Audiovox will begin supplying Chrysler Dealers through Mopar® with the first OE hardware interface that will deliver FLO TV(TM) Auto Entertainment to select Chrysler 2010 vehicles and future vehicles.

Audiovox has a long history supplying products through the OE channel and a relationship with Mopar and the Chrysler Group LLC, which is the first automaker to offer the product direct through their dealer network. The program is expected to launch as a dealer installed option from Mopar® in late December for the following 2008-2010 model year vehicles with factory DVD entertainment systems: Chrysler 300, Chrysler Town & Country, Jeep Liberty, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Commander, Dodge Charger, Dodge Grand Caravan, Dodge Journey, Dodge Nitro, Ram 1500, Ram 2500/3500 and Ram Chassis Cab.

Audiovox manages its OE group from a dedicated facility in Detroit, which is focused on delivering the latest in consumer trends and demands to OEM Production Modification Centers, Vehicle Personalization Centers and Port of Entry as well as supporting OE Supplier Ship Direct Programs directly to OE Dealerships. The Company is actively engaged in the development of Tier -1 vehicle production level programs with a variety of vehicle manufacturers.

The FLO TV service is live mobile TV with the capacity for up to 20 channels with something for everyone: college and professional sports, breaking news, children's shows, primetime sitcoms, reality TV and daytime dramas. This comprehensive, multimedia series is funded by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and The California Endowment. "Frente a la Crisis/Facing the Crisis" takes an inside look at the effects of the economic crisis in the Latino community, and is airing on Satelite Radio Bilingue's nationally-distributed news and talk services, Linea Abierta and Edicion Semanaria de Noticiero Latino.

Linea Abierta broadcasts daily at noon and Edicion Semanaria airs weekly on Fridays at 4 p.m. -- each featuring weekly episodes of the series over a twelve month period that began in September.
