Michigan Housing Authority Announces Release of Cable Show 'House Michigan!'

The Housing Industry in '08 - What Needs to Happen in '09

LANSING, Mich., Dec. 30 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Executive Director Keith Molin of the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) announced today that the latest edition of MSHDA's new cable program, House Michigan!, will begin airing this week on cable stations throughout the state. Guests of this month's program will discuss the impact of the sagging national economy in 2008 on the housing industry and what needs to be done to make 2009 a step on the road to recovery for Michigan. Joining Molin are MSHDA Deputy Director Burney Johnson, Michigan Housing Council President Sheldon Winkelman, and Dennis Varian, president of Associated Management Company.

"In this edition of House Michigan! Deputy Director Burney Johnson and I will be discussing the housing industry in Michigan with two of MSHDA's most powerful affordable housing partners as we continue telling the MSHDA story and how it relates to helping Michigan's economy regain its superior stature." Molin said. "The Michigan Housing Council is the longest-serving association of affordable housing professionals in the country and the Associated Management Company has been serving the housing needs of Michigan seniors and families for more than 30 years."

House Michigan! is produced monthly, and programming provides practical information for Michigan residents regarding homeownership, affordable rental housing, ending homelessness and creating vibrant cities and neighborhoods.

Molin hosts the program and interviews invited guests, including MSHDA staff who administer Authority programs and outside partners who participate in MSHDA related initiatives.

House Michigan! has been released to more than 80 cable stations statewide and is expected to run multiple times throughout each month. New shows will be produced monthly. Check local listings for air dates and times.

MSHDA's vision in the 21st century is to improve the quality of life for all Michigan residents and create vibrant communities by focusing on providing safe, affordable housing through homeownership and rental programs; ending homelessness; and revitalizing neighborhoods and downtowns. MSHDA's loans and operating expenses are financed through the sale of tax-exempt and taxable bonds and notes to private investors, not from state tax revenues.
